Girls Varsity SoftballIt was a pitcher’s duel between two dominant performances in the circle. Char Andrews recorded 15 strikeouts while allowing just 4 hits and 1 earned run. Carmichaels’ Bailey Barnyak was equally impressive, striking out 19 batters and giving up only 1 hit while also driving in the game’s only run offensively. Our Panthers came up just short of the win.

Girls Varsity SoftballIn our last game, our Lady Panthers collected 10 hits in a strong offensive performance to defeat Monessen. Char Andrews earned the win in the circle with 12 strikeouts while allowing five earned runs. Offensively, Keira Church, Gabby Edmunds, and Sutton Rea each had two hits, while Rea, Andrews, VJ Jeevan, and Layla Miller all drove in two runs apiece. Rea and Miller delivered back-to-back doubles in the second inning to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead. Monessen answered with three runs in the top of the third to take a 4-3 advantage into the bottom of the fifth, but Sewickley Academy exploded for seven runs to take control. Boys Varsity BaseballDespite a strong effort on the mound and at the plate, Sewickley Academy fell to Aquinas Academy 2-1. Brady Pietragallo led the Panthers offensively, going 3-for-3 with an RBI triple, while Alex Fritz, Jack Mull, and Nico Frazzini each added hits. Pietragallo also tossed four scoreless innings on the mound before Aquinas pushed across two late runs to secure the win.

Boys Varsity LacrosseSewickley Academy defeated Quaker Valley 14-1 in a phenomenal team effort. The boys stayed composed and played together throughout the game, turning a 4-1 halftime lead into a dominant performance by pulling away in the third quarter. During the game, Jake Bloom also reached the milestone of 100 career points.

Boys Varsity BaseballLogan Bereznay hit two home runs and drove in five runs, but Sewickley Academy fell to Serra Catholic 8–7. The Panthers jumped out early with a first-inning homer from Bereznay but trailed late before rallying for three runs in the seventh, capped by his second home run. Serra Catholic answered with key hits throughout, including a strong performance from the middle of their lineup and 15 total hits. Charlie Scally led Sewickley with three hits as the Panthers finished with 11 in a hard-fought loss.

Girls Varsity SoftballOur Lady Panthers rolled to a 9–0 win in six innings over rival Quaker Valley in a dominant all-around performance. Char Andrews was outstanding in the circle, striking out 17 over six shutout innings. At the plate, Cherish Wilson and Keke Church each tallied two hits, with Wilson driving in three runs. Sophie also contributed offensively, drawing three walks to help keep the pressure on throughout the game.

Congratulations to the Boys Basketball team who defeated Old Forge 52-36 in the 2A PIAA Championship! This victory is a testament to the team's hard work and dedication all season long.This is the 4th state title in program history, but the first since 2017. Mamadou Kane lead the Panthers with 15 points, while Adam Ikamba added 14 points. At the end of the game 10 Panthers had scored.

The Boys Basketball Team has captured the WPIAL 2A Championship with an impressive 52–38 victory over Jeannette! This marks the program’s first WPIAL title since 2018, a testament to the amazing coaching and team’s hard work, resilience, and dedication throughout the season.With the championship secured, the Panthers now turn their focus to the PIAA Tournament as the 7-1 seed. They will host the Saegertown Panthers at home in the Events Center this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. — an exciting opportunity to continue their postseason run in front of a home crowd.The Girls Varsity Basketball Team is also heading to the PIAA Tournament as the 7-5 seed. Lady Panthers Fall Just Short - Look Ahead to States
Our girls fell just short in an incredibly close 1A WPIAL Championship match against Bentworth, with a final score of 0–1. The game was tied 0–0 until the final minutes — it truly could have gone either way. While the result was tough, we couldn’t be prouder of this team and everything they’ve accomplished this season. Their hard work, determination, and heart were on full display from start to finish. A huge thank you to all of our fans, families, and supporters who came out and cheered for our girls all year long! The team will advance to the PIAA Tournament beginning on Tuesday against the winner of District 9. We wish the girls luck moving forward!
